Career Opportunities

Career Opportunities on Gator CareerLink are plenty!  The Career Resource Center provides several resources to locate job opportunities.  The first resource is our “On-Campus Interviewing” job listings.  These particular jobs are posted by companies who come to the University of Florida campus to recruit UF Students and Alumni.  Frequently these companies and organizations attend our Career Showcase event each semester and use CareerLink to collect resumes and schedule interviews.

CareerLink houses many databases providing unprecedented career opportunities for not only full-time positions, but also internships and co-ops.  These opportunities are all over the United States and sometimes internationally.

At the CRC we strive to provide a link from the Students / Alumni and the Employers.  Meeting an employer at Career Showcase is a great way to gain an interview with a company.  The CRC lists upcoming Information Sessions in CareerLink.  Information Sessions are a great way to learn about the company as well as another networking opportunity.

Resume / Cover Letter Storage

CareerLink has the ability to store various documents in the system.  The most common document stored in CareerLink is a resume.  A resume is vital in our system as it is a key ingredient for signing up for an interview, mock interview, or other event scheduled through CareerLink.

Furthermore, having a resume available in the system allows employers to search for you in CareerLink.  Employers have the ability to log in and search for their perfect candidate.

In addition to resumes, CareerLink can store a variety of other documents, like a cover letter.  A cover letter is a great way to introduce yourself to an employer, express your interest in a position, offer the employer insight into your personality through your writing style and impress the employer with your communication skills.

For further information on how to use these features please refer to the Gator CareerLink Online Handbook, our comprehensive online instruction manual.
