STEP 1: Identify Occupations, Job Titles,
or Potential Companies/Organizations
The Externship process begins by first identifying occupations,
job titles, or companies that you want to explore and
then researching these areas as thoroughly as you can
before you begin setting up your externships.
Not sure of an occupation or career field just yet?
Don't worry! The CRC has created a helpful Career
Exploration Exercise that you can download and
print, or you may also visit the Self-Assessment
section of the CRC website to assist you in choosing
a potential career and/or major.
When ready to begin your research, information and resources
about occupations and/or companies that interest you
can be found in many locations. Here are just a few
places to get you started:
