The Experiential
Education (Co-op, Internship, and Externship) Office at
the Career Resource Center assists students and faculty
on campus by providing information on career-related experiences
both in print form and through online databases.
For more detail on the co-op, internship, and externship
programs, go to the Experiential
Education Pages. How the Experiential
Education Team Can Assist Faculty:
- We can hold presentations for classes and student
organizations regarding how to find an internship,
co-op, or externship, preparing to leave, and what
to expect.
- We can provide tours of the CRC to classes and student
organizations (with specific emphasis on internships,
co-ops, and externships, and the services we offer).
- We can partner with departments on campus with special/specific
needs related to internships, externships, and/or
co-ops.
- We can assist students who need a resume or cover
letter critiqued.
- We can provide academic departments with information
about new internship and co-op positions as we receive
them.
- We can provide information on the Career Showcase.
- We can give faculty information about where students
are doing internships or co-ops (from our online Intern
/ Co-op Position Report Form that students fill out
voluntarily). Also, for students participating in
the Co-op Program, we forward copies of the students’
work reports and employer evaluations to the academic
departments.
- We can assist your students with locating available
internship, externship, and co-op opportunities.
However, we do not...
- Offer academic credit through the CRC for INTERNSHIPS.
If a student asks about academic credit for an internship,
we refer them back to their major/college. For CO-OP
students, we (through the College of Liberal Arts
and Sciences) offer academic credit if their academic
departments do not have co-op courses available.
