History

The Gator Launch SLS 2301 began as a career mentoring program that was designed to support the University of Florida’s recruitment and retention of minority students. After several years in its original mentoring program format, Gator Launch has been reformatted into a career development class to assist a larger number of UF students each academic year. Gator Launch Career Development Classes will help students of all classifications develop strategies to guide them through the career-decision process.

Mission

The mission of Gator Launch SLS 2301 is to facilitate the enhancement of the career development process of minority and first- generation students at the University of Florida. Retaining students is an important factor in maintaining the diversity of our student body.

Students will be supported in their career development through regular meetings with Career Resource Center staff who will facilitate their exploration of interests, personality, skills, values and career-decision making strategies in relation to their academic and job selection.
