We provide many resources and services to you at a distance but also welcome you to come into the Career Resource Center for assistance when you are on the Gainesville campus.

CHOMP

Selecting a major and deciding what you want to do after graduation might seem overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. The Career Help fOr Major Planning (CHOMP) program was designed to help you through this process with ease. If you're ready to find a major or consider different career paths, follow the link below to get started. CHOMP is a do-it-yourself process and a great way to start exploring your options.

Certified Gator Professional

The Certified Gator Professional workshop series educates students on topics such as the job and internship search, resume preparation, networking, interviewing and professional development in the workplace. The certification requires completion of two workshops*:

  1. Finding a Full-time Job or Internship
  2. Professionalism

*Workshops may be taken in any order

After two interactive workshops, students can become a Certified Gator Professionals. This certification is meant to be a starting glimpse into career development and is a great opportunity for all students, regardless of level of previous knowledge or experience. This certification is viewable by employers, showing them you are aware of these important topics. This certification allows you to apply for certain internship positions as well.

Distance education students can participate in the online module of these workshops. If interested in the online option, please email exped@crc.ufl.edu for more information.

Job Postings in Gator CareerLink (GCL)

Gator CareerLink (GCL) is the online portal for all things CAREER. It is a comprehensive database of hundreds of jobs, internships, co-ops and fellowship opportunity postings available to students and alums. Postings include information about the employers, job descriptions, positions available, position requirements, and instructions on how to apply. As a distance education student, you can access to attend all career fairs and networking events targeted to connect UF candidates with employers. The CRC coordinates and partners with numerous organizations to host career related events on-campus and virtually for all students. Information Sessions and Workshops

As a distance learner, you are eligible for any on-campus CRC service, program or event. At any time you can come to campus you can take advantage our services just as any other UF student. Workshops and information sessions are a great way for candidates to learn about resources, opportunities and skills available to support the career development process. Workshops on a variety of topics are held at the CRC and are presented by professional CRC staff and employers. On-Campus Recruiting

Many top employers post positions and then hold interviews for those selected in the CRC or Reitz Union. Take advantage of this service by applying online. If you cannot travel to campus, many employers will work with the Career Resource Center to make arrangements for an online interview with candidates.

Distance Career Planning Appointments

Career Planning appointments allow you to discuss your career questions with a staff person through a phone call or Skype appointment. Sign up for an appointment through GatorCareerLink, on our home page, and indicate that you want the session via phone or Skype.

Virtual Mock Interviews

Our online mock interview program, powered by Interview Stream, allows you to practice your interviewing skills in a private setting. You can search for industry specific questions, look at potential ways of answering questions, and use your webcam to record your practice interview. To access the service, log into Gator CareerLink and click “Interview Stream” on the far right of the portal.
