Career Connections
Career Connections is designed to help UF students gather information about various career fields, while fostering meaningful connections with professionals. This may mean a one-time phone conversation, e-mail correspondence or an ongoing relationship. Our students are interested in learning what a typical day is like in your profession, the varying responsibilities you have and the steps you took to get to your current job. We are confident that our students will benefit from this program by learning from professionals who have“been there.” We welcome your participation in our program.
How do I get involved?
If you are interested in joining Career Connections, e-mail the following information to Career Connections Staff.
Name
E-mail Address
Phone Number
Company Name
Address (of your organization)
Once we receive your information, we will create your account and send you the necessary information. After your account is created, you will need to add details to your profile.
What is the benefit for our organization?
Looking for a job is never easy. This service helps students connect with employer/alumni like you, so they can get real world knowledge.
Depending on your level of involvement with the program, there are possibilities of long-term networking.
What are the expectations?
As this is a completely voluntary activity, we don’t want to overload you with student interest. Once your Career Connections account has been created, set a reasonable amount of interactions you would like to receive. Setting 50 per semester might be too much, where as 10 would be more manageable. When you have reached your limit, your name is automatically removed from consideration for that semester.
Our main expectation is for the participant to be engaged in the service and respond to student’s questions in a reasonable time frame.
I still have further questions, who do I contact?
We are here to help you with this service. Please contact our Career Connections Staff.
