Employer2Student Programs

You can participate in and lead a variety of career development programs and courses that will help students examine the resources, strategies and factors that affect career development and decision-making. In addition, they will allow you to build your brand on campus and to establish relationships with students.

Our Focus

Not only will you have more access and exposure to candidates, but they will also benefit from hearing directly from you. From our experience, students and alumni are more likely to receive and apply job search information when it comes from employers. We believe these programs are an excellent place for you to invest in our students and alumni and possibly meet some of your next top candidates.

Employer Resume Critiques for all Majors

Prior to Career Showcase each semester we invite employers to participate in a day of drop-in resume critiques. Students and alumni rush to this event because they value your feedback and perspective. You might even meet a student you would like to interview. To learn more, contact KwanzaCaffie@crc.ufl.edu.

Employer Mock Interviews

Following Career Showcase we provide you with an opportunity to share your interviewing expertise to our candidates. Our survey data shows that employer mock interviews have greatly helped our students and alumni improve their interview skills and increase their confidence. We have also heard that employers found potential hires as well. Contact KwanzaCaffie@crc.ufl.edu for further information.

Employer Workshop Series

We host a series of workshops each semester that are facilitated by a CRC moderator and a panel of employer representatives. Companies participate in panels and workshops to share their knowledge on career preparation, internships, job search skills and more, while participants learn ways to secure full-time employment.

Showcase Summit Panel

This 3-hour panel provides candidates an opportunity to hear from a diverse set of employers on the following topics: Writing a Winning Resume & Cover Letter, Interviewing Do's & Don'ts and Marketing Yourself & Networking

Career Fair Boot Camp

To make sure our students are in "Showcase shape" we invite employers to speak to students about all the essentials of Career Showcase. This workshop is typically offered twice before the career fair and has been very beneficial for preparing students to interact with recruiters and find employment opportunities. Contact JillSkufe@crc.ufl.edu, to get started.

Executive Education Series

The Executive Education Series (EES) has become a popular event at the University of Florida. This program hosts leaders from a variety of industries to share the insights and challenges of working in the global marketplace. EES provides students a first-hand account of cultural and business challenges they will face when they enter the workforce.

More:

Typically, this event involves a speaking engagement with possibilities for other activities while on-campus, including guest lectures in classes, leading specialized training workshops, discussions with faculty and student group presentations. We will tailor an event that meets your goals, as well as those of students.

We recommend at least one full day on-campus, which will allow you to participate in a variety of events.

Our past events have featured:

  • Motorola, "Networking for Results"
  • Lockheed Martin, "I'm Hired, Now What?"
  • Trane Systems, "Green Building and Sustainability"
  • Siemens AG, "How to Make a Fast Career in Industry?

This is a tremendous opportunity for executives to highlight critical issues in their industry. Having one of your top leaders represent your organization is a tremendous way to help solidify your brand on campus.
