Career Advising is provided by our Career Ambassadors and our Career Advisors. The Career Ambassadors are available on a drop-in basis, their hours are posted at Career Ambassador Hours.
and our Career Advisors are available by appointment by calling the Career Resource Center (CRC) at 352-392-1601, press 0.

Our Career Ambassadors are our group of highly trained peer advisors who work closely with our Career Advisors. Because the Career Ambassadors are students, they can relate to the types of questions and concerns you may have about your career. They can explain the many facets of effective career planning and will show you how to use the materials in the library. They can also help you get started with the World Wide Web - the fastest growing source of information about career opportunities. .

Our Career Ambassador Advising Service is available to help you with a variety of issues including:

  • Identifying useful resources in the Career Library
  • Resume and Cover Letter Critiquing
  • Interview Preparation
  • Career Planning and Job Search Skills
  • Mock Interviews

The Career Ambassadors can likely handle your questions, but if you need more expertise they can refer you to a Career Advisor to better assist you. If a specific staff member might be your best resource, they will refer you to that staff member for an appointment.

During a Career Advising appointment you can meet with professional staff to receive assistance with the same issues as you might in working with a Career Ambassador, plus you can get assistance with Job Offer Preparation, Salary Negotiation, Industry Specific advising, Graduate School Application Process, Interviewing Preparation, Internships and Co-ops, Networking and Preparing for Career Fairs. Our Career Advisors are available by appointment by calling the Career Resource Center (CRC) at 352-392-1601, press 0.

If you are trying to decide on a major, choosing a career, or making other career-related decisions, you may want to speak with a career counselor. Information on Career Counseling and availability can be found at career counseling.
