Resumes and cover letters are important documents for your job search. Your resume lists experiences and/or areas you have developed skills in. Cover letters help you introduce yourself and explain your interest in the position. Both, work together to help you secure an interview. Create a resume and cover letter with resources in the CRC library and Resume Builder in Gator CareerLink, then stop by the CRC library to have them critiqued.

Resume Builder
in Gator CareerLink is a free service that helps you create professional files to achieve your career or employment objectives. Use the Resume Builder to:

  • Create resumes and letters in several formats, including Word® Compatible, Plain Text, PDF and HTML.
  • Develop high-quality professional correspondence with employers.
  • Manage several documents and upload them to your Gator CareerLink profile.

When sending your resume to prospective employers, include a cover letter. Use the cover letter to introduce yourself, express interest in a position and offer the employer insight into your personality through your writing style and communication skills.

If you are applying for multiple positions, each cover letter should be written specifically for each individual organization.
