GCL is a powerful tool. We're here to help. Here are some of the basic features and tips on how to use them.
With your GCL account, you can apply for an on-campus interview. Organizations send representatives to Gainesville to interview UF students and alumni for all types of opportunities for every major. Pay careful attention to deadlines! Don't miss a valuable opportunity.
On-Campus Interviews are listed in the "My Jobs > Gator CareerLink Job Database." Look for positions types with a "P" or "O." You can also use the "show me" option to show "all interviews."
GCL also provides you customized search options for full-time, internship and co-op opportunities that can include on-campus interviews. GCL's numerous search features will allow you to find career opportunities that interest you.
Access these job postings by using the Gator CareerLink Job Database, JobCentral, Employ Florida and USAJobs features of Gator CareerLink.
Notice about Fraudulent Employers
'If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is'. From time to time, a fraudulent employer enters the Gator CareerLink system offering what looks to be a great employment opportunity. These 'opportunities' come at a price - they require a fee to be paid in order to be interviewed or employed with their company. These are fraudulent companies submitting listings, looking to scam students and alumni of significant sums of money. If at any time, an employer requests payment from you, contact the Career Resource Center immediately.
Examples of payment requests include:
- Demands payment for training
- Demands payment to set up an office
- Sends you a check prior to starting work, asks you to keep a portion of it and requests that you to send them a personal check for a portion of the amount they sent to you.
- Requests excessive personal information prior to being hired, such as bank account numbers and previous income information.
We have over 10,000 credible employers in the Gator CareerLink system who are looking for talented Gators. Our office goes to great lengths to ensure that the employers in the system are legitimate; however, we ask you to use good judgment in reviewing the postings and companies. As you search for internship and full-time opportunities, be mindful that you should not have to pay any type of fee to be considered for a position or to start a job. If you have any questions or find a questionable listing, contact the CRC immediately at 352-392-1601 or ContactUs@crc.ufl.edu.
Attend an Information Session to meet an employer face-to-face. Information Sessions provide you with an opportunity to learn about an organization and network with key representatives. Don't forget to bring copies of your resume and to wear business casual attire.
Access the Information Session list by clicking on "events" and selecting "Information Sessions."
We regularly host workshops to help you learn valuable skills. Attending offers you a great opportunity to improve your resume, interviewing and other career-related skills. GCL houses all of the workshop opportunities (don't forget to RSVP).
Find out more by clicking "events" and selecting "workshops."
Get information about upcoming Career Fairs through GCL. We host a variety of fairs for full and part-time jobs for various majors. Use GCL to access up-to-date information on employers attending the fairs and research their opportunities.
Click the "events" link inside of GCL for lists of current career fairs and the attendees. The "employers" link lists ALL of the employers we work with.
You can't get better at interviewing unless you practice! GCL provides you access for face-to-face, employer and virtual mock interviews.

Upload your resumes (as many versions as you like!) in GCL to apply for job postings, request interviews and perform other features. Some organizations request additional documents like cover letters, unofficial transcripts and writing samples – you can upload them all here.
