Throughout your career planning process, it is important to remember that flexibility is ok. We are constantly changing as people, so our career paths also might change. Along the way, you might change your major, discover a new skill, or experience a new passion. This is a normal part of the career exploration process. Trust yourself throughout the process.

Developing your sense of self is essential when preparing for your future and is the pathway to understanding careers that may be a good fit for you.

To discover more about you, start by asking yourself these questions:

  • What is important to me?
  • What do I like doing? What do I not like doing?
  • Where do I spend a lot of my time?
  • What activities or classwork do I lose track of time while doing?
  • Where do I feel like I am at my best?
  • What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses?

This web-based assessment allows users to learn about natural strengths and how to use them. Results display your top five signature talents.

The Strong Interest Inventory (SII)

This assessment measures your level of interest among a range of career-related areas and compares them to people in more than 100 occupations. The SII helps explore potential career options.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

This instrument is designed to help you identify your natural personality preferences.  The MBTI helps you understand how you prefer to collect and organize information, make decisions and interact with the world around you. Results from this assessment can help you understand how you may prefer to work and potential areas of growth.

Career Planning Appointments are typically 30-minute sessions where a staff member addresses a need you have to help you explore, prepare, or start your career or graduate/professional school planning process. We categorize our appointments by seven topics.
